Tango Fusion

Knowing your body ( Body preparation for tango dancers)

This method was specially conceived by Luis Bruni for tango dancers in 1997. This technique is adapted to any style of tango and is aimed at all level of dancers.

By simple exercises based on respiration, relaxation, release of energy, flexibility of the joints, muscular tonicity, body awareness and stimulation of creativity, it allows dancers :

- to learn to take advantage of their capacities by a better knowledge of the body to reach fluidity in movement.
- to acquire good posture, balance, flexibility, and contact with the floor.

- to recognize and correct bad movements, which in short and long term lead to joint and muscular problems (back, knees, shoulders...)

- to learn to move with poetry, an essential point for a dancer.

- to recognize the physical demands of tango. For example : a simple pivot, the key movement in the evolution of structure in tango (sacada, boleo, giro), demands an unnatural movement on the body.

Complementary to regular tango classes, this method allows the dancer to improve according to his or her possibilities, to recognize his or her limits in order to exploit them with a minimum amount of energy and maximum efficiency. It is the opportunity to exercise individually all of the complications that come with dancing as a couple.

"With better knowledge and use of their bodies, dancers would avoid many injuries on muscles and joints."
